Our BMW M3
In keeping with our desire to do the job right using the best equipment available, our managing director David Towe chooses to race a quality piece of Australian motorsport history.
He purchased this ex JPS Team BMW M3 in 2010 and it has a proven race history in the Group A Touring Car Championship. It was the last M3 built by JPS in 1987 and finished 4th outright at the Bathurst 1000 that year with Jim Richards and Tony Longhurst sharing the drive.
In 1988 it was painted white and was driven by the late Peter Brock in the touring car championship and by Brock and Richards at Bathurst that year.
It's been fully restored back to the original JPS livery and has been very successful for David already finishing 3rd at the Australian Muscle Car Masters meeting in September 2011 and 2nd at the May Historic meeting at Eastern Creek Raceway that same year. He was successful by winning the Glenn Seton Trophy at the Morgan Park Historic meeting in Qld in 2013 and pole position and 2 race wins at the inaugural Sydney Retro Speedfest at Sydney Motorsport Park in May of 2014. At the end of the 2014 championship, Towe had taken the eventual winner Terry Lawlor to the last race before the series champion was decided. 2nd outright and 1st in class for the 2014 championship was a pleasing result for the team.
We head to Sandown Raceway in Victoria on the 10th and 11th of November for the last round of the championship in a healthy position of leading the pack. Sandown will see a new champion crowned and naturally we're hope our managing director David Towe will be wearing it. Our car competes in the Heritage Touring Cars category which are all genuine Group A and Group C Touring cars on the grid making for a spectacular sight. A field of many significant cars will be competing and all are the original Group C and Group A Touring Cars from the 70s and 80s. Video from the front bumper of Sydney Retro Racefest Race 2 at Sydney Motorsport Park can be watched by clicking on this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoHs5_P6pPk A pit pass is included in the admission price at the track and you can get up close to the cars and drivers so please feel free to drop by and say Hello.
We'd also like to thank our long term sponsors for their assistance in helping us in our motor racing endeavours.
